Tissue engineering has grown from the realm of science fiction into one of the most exciting and fascinating frontiers of science.  This multidisciplinary field has brought together scientists and engineers from all areas of research in an attempt to solve fascinating  scientific problems using engineering principles.  

Despite the plethora of scientific links on the web today, there has not been a comprehensive website dedicated to brining together up-to-date tissue engineering information for the seasoned tissue engineer as well as the curious mind.  It was from this need that tissueeng.net  (a non-profit web-based organization) spawned.  The goals of the site are to: 

1. Educate the public about tissue engineering by amalgamating today's diverse tissue engineering and biotechnology related information in one place.
2. Create an environment for easy transfer of information for tissue engineers world-wide.

It was Robert Langer who said that "Idea's are like children growing up, I want to nurture them so they are stable and so they will happen".  Based on this analogy tissueeng.net is still an infant which needs the support and feedback of  its users.  Our team is dedicated to "nurture" the site using  your suggestions, so please feel free to browse the site and comment on ways to improve its current structure.
